ReachSpot and Contracts Finder
Compare what each service covers, how it works and who it suits. Use the differences to choose the right fit for your business.
What Contracts Finder is
The UK government's own free service for publishing public sector contract opportunities and awards. It carries notices from central government departments, their agencies and other public bodies, and it lets you save a search and receive it by email once you have registered a free account.
Free. It is a government service and there is no paid tier. A free account is needed to save searches and receive email alerts.
What it is good at
It is the source, and it is free
Buyers publish here because they are required to. Anything a paid tender service shows you from English public procurement started life on this or on Find a Tender, so you are reading the original rather than a copy of it.
Saved searches and email alerts cost nothing
Register an account, set a keyword and location search, turn on email, and you have a working tender alert for no money. A great many suppliers pay for a service that does approximately this.
Award notices as well as opportunities
You can filter to awarded contracts and see who won. These records can help you research buyers and previous awards.
No commercial interest in what you see
It is not trying to sell you a tier. Nothing is held back behind a plan.
What ReachSpot does differently
One service that checks eight streams against your business profile: Contracts, Projects, Property, Prospects, Rivals, Customers about to go under, Rules and Funding. Priced by industry, from £49 a month for charities to £299 for commercial finance, with every stream included at every price.
Public procurement is one stream of eight
ReachSpot includes public contract notices alongside other sources of business information. Planning changes and funding programmes are included, as are company records and warnings about the businesses you watch.
The price is on the page
Twenty industry packs, each with a stated monthly and yearly figure, no demo required to find out what it costs and no sales call before you see a number.
Matching uses your business profile
Your company or charity record starts the profile. You confirm the details about your services and working area, and ReachSpot checks notices against those facts.
Free before you pay
You can see what the last thirty days would have produced for your company before there is any card involved.
Choose Contracts Finder if
Public sector contracts are the only thing you are looking for, your categories are easy to describe in keywords, and you have the discipline to work a search results page every week. Start here before paying anybody, including us.
Choose ReachSpot if
Keywords keep returning the wrong things, you want the planning applications, company events, funding and early warnings alongside the notices, or you want the match made against your company record rather than a phrase you had to guess.
What we cannot claim
You can read user feedback on our homepage. This comparison describes published features and does not measure comparative customer outcomes.
Every statement about Contracts Finder above comes from its own website on 9 September 2026. Prices and features change and this page does not change with them, so check before you decide.
